A reminder that not everything in life needs to be sharply defined or neatly boxed into categories. Some moments are more beautifully understood in the blurry, unspoken spaces — the ones that don’t shout for attention, but quietly demand to be felt.
In a world, myself included, where clarity and control often reign supreme — where everything is expected to be in high definition: high resolution, high speed, high productivity — life sometimes asks us to pause. To listen. To soften the edges. To trust in the feeling, rather than the form.
I’m Erica — the creator behind Superegg and @eggcanvas. A visual storyteller, an esthetician, and someone who has always believed in the beauty found in balance: between function and feeling, tradition and transformation.
For over a decade, I worked within the corporate fashion and beauty world. As Vice President at Barneys New York, I built my career, climbing higher and faster in the world of luxury retail. Yet, alongside that, I was nurturing a parallel path — as a lifestyle creator, a community builder, and a storyteller. Through the lens of my camera, I shared moments and built connections. Both of these paths were entrepreneurial in their own right — but something deeper began to call me.
A quiet pull toward independence. Toward intention. Toward a slower, more deliberate rhythm. Leaving the corporate world wasn’t easy — it was a decision born of discomfort and uncertainty. But it was also the beginning of something more authentic, more me.
And here I am now, sharing this space with you. Soft Focus is the pause between. The stillness before the next big idea. It is a sanctuary for journal entries, reflections on skincare and spirit, gentle inspirations, and the textures of everyday life — filtered through light, memory, and the fluidity of movement.
Where Superegg is my offering to the world, Soft Focus is the reflection in between. It’s the space I’ve created to step back, to breathe, to revisit the beauty of the details and rediscover the joy in the small, soft moments of life.
