DubuHaus — A Restaurant Dedicated to Tofu

DubuHaus, 6 E 32nd St, New York, NY 10016

We recently had the pleasure of dining with friends at DubuHaus, a new tofu-centric restaurant from Urimat Hospitality. After enjoying my experience at HOWOO, their Korean barbecue spot, I was eager to see how this latest concept would evolve.

Upon entering, the space immediately struck me with its understated elegance. The warm wood tones, soft lighting, and minimalist design create a serene, inviting atmosphere — the kind of place where you can comfortably settle in and enjoy the meal at a relaxed pace.

As for the food, DubuHaus truly shines with its innovative use of tofu. We shared a variety of dishes that highlighted the versatility of this humble ingredient, from crispy tofu to velvety stews, each offering vibrant flavors and a comforting depth. Alongside the tofu creations, we enjoyed dumplings and a few meat plates, which balanced the meal perfectly. The tofu dishes, though, were the real stars, with textures that ranged from silky smooth to satisfyingly firm.

One of the highlights was the setup near the entrance for doshirak, traditional Korean lunch boxes. This is a new offering that promises convenience without sacrificing quality, and I can already imagine it becoming a go-to for those looking for easy, flavorful meals on the go.

DubuHaus strikes a perfect balance between innovation and tradition, making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates tofu or simply enjoys good, hearty comfort food. Whether you’re a longtime tofu fan or a newcomer to the ingredient, this restaurant offers something both familiar and exciting.
